We don’t use the word push. We encourage children to believe in themselves that they can do hard things! For example: If they’re scared of front rolls we can encourage them to do it in small steps rather than all at once. If the coach sees that the child doesn’t feel comfortable then we simply move on to the next awesome trick and try again another day. The coach’s job is not to check off that the child has accomplished everything on the lesson plan for the day. The coach’s job is to help children learn acrobatic skills that they want for themselves while also being their biggest cheerleader!
